Draft Consensus Statement - Breast Cancer Screening for Women Ages
40-49- This is the draft consensus statement
developed at the NIH conference on breast cancer screening held
January 21 - 23, 1997. Currently, "the available data do not warrant
a single recommendation for mammography for all women in their
forties". Thus, the consensus statement suggests that the decision for
mammography be made on an individual basis, and that the "costs of the
mammograms should be reimbursed by third-party payors or covered by
health maintenance organizations".

to 49.The conference was held January 21st to January 23rd 1997 at
